Disability Resources Inc. is bringing FOX Sports NFL analyst and former Dallas Cowboy fullback Daryl “Moose” Johnston to Abilene as the guest speaker for its 30th Anniversary Celebration. The dinner event is on May 15th, at 7:00 pm, at the Abilene Convention Center (formerly the Civic Center). A VIP Sponsor Reception with Johnston will be held prior to dinner at 6:15 pm. Johnston, considered one of the best fullbacks of his day, played in 149 consecutive games as a Cowboy. Since 2013, Johnston has worked as a color commentator on The NFL on Fox. “We are extremely excited that Daryl will be joining us for this DRI milestone,” said Holly Holmes, Director of Special Events. “Daryl has been a major contributor to many charities, including Special Olympics, so his presentation will be especially meaningful for us,” she added. In addition to Johnston’s presentation, the famous DRI Bell Peppers Handbell Choir will perform.
DRI has been providing residential care, vocational training, and recreational activities to developmentally disabled individuals in a Christian environment since 1987.
